A bite of a crisp, cooling cucumber is what you need to beat the heat

Cucumbers are a crunchy and refreshing summer vegetable. Cucumbers readily grow across Wisconsin and are widely available at farmers' markets, grocery stores and on restaurant menus.

Storage

Cucumbers should be stored in the refrigerator, preferably in a perforated bag to maintain moisture. They can last for about one week.

Seasonality

Cucumbers are at their peak during the summer months, typically from late spring to early fall. 

Prep Tip

Try salting your cucumbers for a half hour before using them for a crunchy, refreshing bite.
